Like most California county jails, the Placer County Jail is crowded. The last addition to the main jail, located at 2775 in Auburn was in 1992, bringing the jail to its current capacity of 352. Another 160 inmates can be held at a minimum security facility located at 11441 F Avenue, also in Auburn. Most of the time the jail is at 90 percent capacity and bond is encouraged on minor offenses. The jail serves the cities and towns of Auburn, Colfax, Lincoln, Rocklin, Roseville, Loomis, Dollar Point, Dutch Flat, Foresthill, Granite Bay, Kings Beach, Meadow Vista, Newcastle, North Auburn, Olympic Valley, Penryn, Sheridan, Sunnyside-Tahoe City and Tahoe Vista.
Like all county jails, that are overcrowded, if you are guaranteed to be granted bond (which is sometimes the case on minor traffic offenses), you may never see the inside of a Placer County jail cell. There are still some important steps you need to follow when bonding out of jail:
- Call Minuteman Bail Bonds at 1-888-501-2245. We are available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Placer County. We can help you understand the charges against you and tell you which Placer County court you will need to pay. You may have been arrested by the Lincoln, Roseville, Rocklin or Auburn police departments, by the California Highway Patrol or by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
- While you are being booked at the Placer County Jail, be patient. Booking includes fingerprints, photographs and a records check and can take several hours. While you are being booked, your Placer County bail bondsman is securing your release.
- If you are not from Placer County and you need an out-of-county relative or friend to pay your bail, don’t worry. Your Minuteman Bail Bonds representative can call your relative, fax the forms to them and your relative can use a major credit card to pay your Placer County bail over the telephone. We also have the forms online for your convenience.
- Once you are released, your Placer County bail bondsman can usually take you home or back to your car.
