If you are arrested and sent to the Napa County Jail, you may notice that the officers are a little different. Since 1975, the jail has been a private facility run by civilians and not sheriff’s deputies. It is only one of three county jails in the state of California not associated with the county sheriff’s department. The jail, located at 1125 Third Street in Napa, can house 256 inmates.
What does this mean if you are arrested and want to make bond using a Napa County bail bondsman? The Napa County Jail is required to handle bond the same way as county-run facilities. The jail houses inmates arrested by Napa County courts, the sheriff’s department, the California Highway Patrol, as well as the American Canyon and Yountville police departments. While American Canyon and Yountville are the only towns with police departments, other cities in Napa County include Angwin, Calistoga, Deer Park, Napa and St. Helena.
